I appreciate that so much Put those right there Proverbs 12 verse 4 of 1 should be there by now We'll care at the first three words Solomon begins by talking about a virtuous woman a Virtuous woman and this is one of those times and I have to remind everybody that the King James translation was translated from the Hebrew into the English in the 1600s and the word virtuous was used in different ways back then that would not be found in a modern dictionary today and The Hebrew word that's translated virtuous literally means force force in most cases the the word is Not translated virtuous.
In fact in the Bible, but it's translated believe it or not as the word army army an army woman How about that man when I grew up one of the biggest put-downs I?
Haven't heard this in decades brother Shepard one of the biggest put-downs was your mother wears army boots.

Man, tell you why if you want to really get someone that's what you tell them and this word Hebrew word translated virtuous literally means force It's most often translated as army or some equivalent to the word army in the Bible It's also translated as the word valor strength and Force among other things fascinating, isn't it With that in mind the word virtuous in the 1600s This was translated and it's also used as virtuous In the modern translations most of modern translations as well But in the in the 1600s when this word virtuous was being used in this way It meant efficacious Efficacious Now something is efficacious it basically means it's effective It can get the job done and so Something because of its innate qualities could get the job done last week our shower in our Master bedroom was stopped up and so Tammy got some drain.

drain cleaner and a virtuous woman is a woman who because of her innate godly character Because of God's Spirit dwelling in her she is efficacious She gets the job done She gets the job done as a woman.
She gets the job done as a wife.
She is a virtuous woman in the 1600s if they were speaking of a particular type of metal and it was a strong metal They would call it a virtuous metal and tonight we're talking about a virtuous Woman kind of gives you a whole different idea about virtue doesn't it So watch the woman's job Why did God create the woman in?
Genesis chapter 2 verse 18 The Bible says and the Lord God said it is not good That the man should be alone.
I will make him and help meet for him and help meet for him We've looked at this verse many times before and we will remind you that the word meet means suitable And so it's not a help meet.
It's not one word.
It's two words It's a help that's meet or that's suitable or that's compatible For him the literal translation of the Bible puts it this way.
I will make him a helper as a counterpart I'll make him and helper as a counterpart So we have a woman here Who is a help and?
She is a virtuous woman as a helper She is an army She is a force She is strength I Tell my wife all the time I'll say You've got a lot of power don't I sugar I tell her all the time you got a lot of power sweetheart I tell all the time woman has a lot of power She can either raise a man up or she can tear a man down Lots of power that a woman has It's amazing as a weaker vessel to be so powerful, but here it is in Scripture She's an army woman She's a forceful woman She is a powerful creature and here we see That she was made as a help.
I will make him and help That's meat for him now Fascinatingly the Hebrew word that's translated help in the book of Genesis chapter 2 verse 18 is always Translated help in the Bible now most Hebrew or Greek words When you do a word study you will see that they're translated as other Related type words and you get the the full character of that word, but this particular word Translated help is always Translated help in the Bible never anything else, but help and in almost every single time That this word is translated as help in the Bible Almost every single time with the exception of course of Genesis 2 18 But almost every single time the help is speaking of God's God's help God's help We recently studied Hebrews, I'm sorry Hosea chapter 13 were studying through the book of Hosea on Sunday mornings and Not too many Sundays ago We were in Hosea 13 verse 9 and I absolutely love teaching verse 9 in Hosea 13 verse 9 just to remind you God tells Israel Oh Israel thou hast destroyed thyself But in me is thine help Same Hebrew word For what God made the woman In me is thine help Psalms chapter 33 verse 20 33rd Psalm verse 20 listen to what the psalmist says our soul waited for the Lord he is our help and our shield Now that's amazing, isn't it?
That almost every single time this word is translated in the Bible it is translated as God being a helper and Every time it's translated is translated as the same thing help Now the Hebrew word From which this word help comes from it has a fascinating root word and The Hebrew root word from which the word help comes from Means to surround and protect now, I won't get out here so you can see my hands especially for the folks online It means to surround and protect Meet for him Root word I will make someone who will surround him and Protect him and support him What did God make that woman out of a?
Rib what does a rib do it surrounds it protects it supports God didn't take a femur From Adam He didn't take a hand from Adam He didn't he didn't take a bone that articulates like a like a one with a knee or fingers or Anything like that he took a rib a non load bearing bone He took something that surrounds protects and supports it made it into something it looks like y'all Calls it a help And Describes it isn't true word as the very thing that he took from Adam to make that help with Fascinating Are you putting these pieces together?
I hope you are Again Every time the words translated as help and almost every single time except for again like in Genesis 2 18 It's God being man's help God is man's help God surrounds Protects and provides support to a man as he's doing the will of God Woman is man's help as A rib She surrounds Protects and provides support to her man as he's doing the will of God That's what God made a woman to do a woman is God's help to her man She is the agency of God Surrounding protecting and providing support to her husband as he does the will of God ladies Don't you buy the lie of the devil?
Don't you buy the lie of the world?
Don't ever let the devil make you think that being a man's help is beneath you The truth is it's above you God is man's help You are man's help.
It's the same word If God is man's help and you are man's help, then you are administering the help of God to your husband It's God's help flowing down through you.

You're getting God's Word the understanding of God's Word from God Through the pastor that God's Spirit gave the church for the purpose of teaching and edifying till we all come together Unto the the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ of the book of Ephesians says and as God's help coming from him through the agent to you as Every gift of the Spirit is we all have different gifts But if God is man's help Then what a privilege God has given you ladies to administer his help to your man What an incredible privilege Sometimes I get so excited thinking I get to go teach God's Word today What a privilege to handle the scriptures like the disciples When and to take the basket of loaves and fishes and just pass those things out what a what an incredible privilege to take something that belongs to God and Administer it to the people he loves That's exactly what you're doing when you're administering God's help to your husband God's help to God's man You are the minister of God to him.
You are Administering God's help to your husband.
You are serving God by serving a man Say that again.
You are serving God by serving a man as a pastor My wife administers God's help to me So that I can administer God's Word to you She didn't administer God's Word Bible tells her no But she administers God's help and that helps me administer God's Word as As a pastor and my wife administers God's help to me.
I'd minister God's Word to you.

I'm praying.
I'm in the Word of God and I have no care in the world I'm just in there.

She is my help.
She is God ministering I'm sorry.
She is God's minister ministering his help to me so I can then minister God's Word in grace to you It's actually a very Beautiful thing.
It's a holy thing Here's a kingdom truth a married woman who is not helping Her husband is not serving her God a married woman Who is not helping her husband is not serving her God.
That is what God created your rib You're a help Meat for him women who won't cook won't help won't follow their husband's leadership in the home What what good are they for?

don't buy Drano to use as air freshener and God didn't make women to be a high maintenance hindrance in the home that's what a lot of women are just high maintenance and a ball of a ball and chain around a man's ankle and And that's not what God made them to be if you have a Helper in your home If your wife is administering God's helps you can do God's will and administer his gift to you to others Then you're a very fortunate man and that woman is God's grace and his love to you But God made them to be helpers to their husbands and a woman who's Not a help to her husband is not a virtuous woman But one who is a virtuous woman if you look back in your text the Bible says she is what is a crown is a crown Now crown is placed on a purpose a person's head for one Main reason and that's to bestow honor upon that person's head whether it's a crown as in You know the Olympics and they'd put back before they put medals They would put crowns on their head if they won in the Olympics or if it's a crown of royalty again That's the honor of their their position their authority Or whatever kind of crown it is God's gonna be giving us crowns of honor or distinguished in in the kingdom the Bible says But it's for the purpose of bestowing honor upon that person Proverbs chapter 4 Verse 7 through 9 Proverbs chapter 4 verse 7 through 9 Says wisdom is the principal thing Therefore get wisdom and will all that getting get understanding Exalt her and she shall promote thee She shall bring thee to honor when thou dost embrace her She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace now this is speaking of wisdom, but we're learning about crowns an Ornament of grace that's what that's what a woman a virtuous woman who is the the help that God created her to be She is an ornament of grace.
She is what a crown of glory a Crown of glory shall she deliver to thee If you're a virtuous woman tonight, you realize you are a force You have the power to prop your husband up like nobody can And you are a crown and a crown has to be put in the right place You don't want to put a crown on a fool You want to put your crown on some other man, but you want to put your crown on your husband We'll give that here in just a moment, but you are a crown of glory to your husband That's what you're supposed to be You need to live your life ladies in such a way That you adorn your husband with honor Your life should bring glory to him First Corinthians chapter 11 verse 7 first Corinthians chapter 11 verse 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head for as much as he is the image and glory of God Man's the glory of God But the woman is the glory of the man She's a crown of glory to her husband if she's a virtuous woman the Bible says very clearly right here the woman is the glory of the man Had a a man had Walter Degener sent me a message this week Becky and brother Andy known And he wanted to say hi to me and And he said you have a beautiful wife Now what was that?
That's just glory to me.
You see and I complimenting her.
He's complimenting me And I appreciate him saying that but it makes me think you know when I hear things like that the woman's the glory of the man a Woman can bring great honor to a man or she can bring great shame to her husband She could do either one they do both Notice that Solomon said her husband Not somebody else's husband her husband Some woman some women they'll dress up nice.
I bet y'all know some of them They'll dress up nice.
They'll go to work They'll serve another man in the workplace.
They'll put on a big smile Women are good at that too I'm telling you there are some women the the phone a ring at home There'll be an argument with their husband Chewing him out griping that phone a ring.
Hello You know and They'll put that big smile on that big nice bubbling terrific personality to that man at work I want to go home and treat their husband just the opposite Ladies don't miss this as God's helper You are a crown few things You have power a few things can make a man stand taller Work harder and shine broader Than a godly woman at his side I'm telling you I'm telling you there.
There's a few things That I think I could do if I knew my wife was behind me and had my support Do you know what I do sometimes?
Here's a little secret Now brother chef you got me laughing this morning now in your Sunday school.
You got me laughing As he said I had to go back listen to last Sunday's Sunday school when you start talking about those cedar trees and all that I want to go back and re-listen to it and I was in there exercise.
I listened to brother Shepherd Sunday school since I teach Sunday school I listened his Sunday school and I'm exercising in the morning He started talking about him had to be careful So he didn't want to get me laughing while I was exercising lifting weights and stuff They could drop something on my toe and I got tickled.
I didn't drop anything on my toe though but I Was going somewhere with that brother Shepherd it was good, too What was I saying oh well it was good cedar trees That wasn't it That's it that's it that was it back in the gym sometimes If I'm really really I'm wanting to get an extra rep out of something You know, I mean I'm gonna I'm getting close 60 years old I'm not setting any records But if I'm trying to trying to just get an extra rep out of something for my own personal benefit and get a gain You know what I'll do Tammy where are you?
Come stand here by me while I do this and there's just something about her standing in there Supporting me that makes me want to just push a little bit harder and go the extra mile The Bible calls the woman the weaker vessel But then in the Proverbs it's calling her a virtuous woman literally in the God's language in the Hebrew Calling her a powerful woman an army woman a forceful woman How can that weak woman?
Be so much strength to me Because she is administering God's help God is our help and She is the minister of God's help to me Why did God choose the weak woman to minister his help and strength to me because his strength is made perfect In weakness, that's why And it's just absolutely amazing Women don't try to be strong people say why am woman hear me roar?
Man, I tell you what?
You want a good dose of reality?
Just try roaring up against a man that doesn't respect you as a woman Now if you quit roaring And you yield to God and you put yourself under the authority of your husband and under the authority of Scripture You'll be stronger than any roaring woman Because you'll have the line of the tribe of Judah and his spirit working living serving ministering through you as a woman You have a lot of power to make your husband go and to make him shine men thrive on praise and admiration and I'm sorry had Add admiration from their wives they do they thrive on it They get ever since I was a little boy and you see little boys mama fill my muscle men thrive on Admiration from their wives You you have the power to to prop your husband up you you should make your husband look good A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband look back in your text now, but she that maketh ashamed and that's a different story a Woman can be a crown to her husband and bring honor to his head or she can bring shame To her husband and that the word shame here.
It's it's a Hebrew word that means pale pale Which means to shine less brightly as an example would say well that pales in comparison to that, right?
You you you'll make him shine less brightly.
You'll you'll dim his light a Woman can bring dignity to her husband or disgrace to she can either be a crown on his head or she could be egg on his face If a woman pales her husband She dims his glory because he's the glory of God Remember the man is the glory of God You're the glory of man When you bring your husband godly glory, then you're bringing what God glory So here's how it works.
Remember the Bible says of him through him and to him are all things God takes his help Gives that help to that man through that woman That woman administers by yielding to God and yielding to the authority that he put over her and Making her the helper and her saying this is what God made me to be.
I want to yield to God's purpose in creating me She then administers God's help to that man She becomes a crown to that man she She's the glory of that man And so doing she props him up and his service to God and as he's serving God with her help He then becomes the glory to God So God's help starts here.
Here's his grace grace comes down to the woman His grace comes through the woman to the man and then it shines bright and it's a crown on his head Which then returns God's grace in the form of glory back to him It's a marvelous thing and the devil wants to distort that And make you think somehow well, there's this glass ceiling we got a step out of that I'm not going to be my husband's helper.
That's all 50/50 here Man I tell you what that is that's as rebellious as the devil That's what the devil wanted was 50/50 with God.
He said I shall be like the most high And what happened He was cast down to the ground The Bible says a woman that's ashamed her husband look back in your text is as rottenness Rottenness a Woman who puts her husband down instead of building him up is a rotten woman a Woman who won't be her husband's helper, but instead bring shame to him is a rotten woman.
You know what rottenness is is decay It's decay it breaks down a Rotten woman eats away at her husband instead of building him up nag nag nag complain complain complain Put down put down put down.
I had a big Big strong former college football player.
I used to work with big old fella We were in the vehicle one day talking to each other and he said Richard.
I Guess he just needed to talk He said my wife Calls me things and never let a man call me he said nobody Talks down to me In this world like my wife And that man had to go home to that every day and endure that That's rottenness But you know what a little weak woman Had the power to break that big man down.

I probably got that big fist in my face That Weak woman had power to do it She can be a crown of glory she can be rottenness you can be either one She is rottenness where look in your text in his bones in his bones As we begin to close now In his bones the deepest part of him a woman Who is not a virtuous woman She can make her husband feel a deep deep sorrow inside himself Wearing him down with her lack of support with her negativity and just suck the life out of him Suck the life out of woman again.
She has a lot of power She can be glory on her husband's head or rottenness in her husband's bones a small weak woman can cripple a big strong man Eve was rotten to Adam Rotten she wasn't a help to Adam was she she was a help to the serpent and She was rotten as to the man You see she got it backwards She was a help to the serpent The serpent had one thing in mind.
How can I get Adam to?
Do on earth what I did in heaven.
How can I get him to?
Revolt against his creator as I did in heaven in Eve comes around as a rib And she supports the serpent Surrounds him and gives him the help that he needs to make sure his mission got accomplished She put the crown on the serpent's head and The rottenness in her husband's bones and that's exactly what the serpent wants the women to do today crown the world Rotten the husband Father we thank you so much for your precious word.
We thank you father for its purity We thank you father that it flies in the face of earthly wisdom We thank you Lord God that it is so Opposite father of what our fallen a dammit flesh Wants us to think and do but Lord God To the man and woman who will embrace your word It is liberating It is invigorating It's life-giving And it takes the rottenness away And it makes the family whole God I pray that you'll be the help through each and every woman listening tonight that You are that your help because you are our help And we pray that your help will be administered through our help the women you gave us to your great praise and glory in Jesus wonderful name AMen
